Autanno

Autanno annotates images off-line and on-device — titles, captions, keywords, object and scene detection, and near-duplicate detection. Everything runs locally. Nothing is ever uploaded.

Requires Apple Intelligence. On a Mac without it enabled, the AI description step is skipped and you'll get templated text instead of generated captions. So if your titles and captions look generic, that's why — enable Apple Intelligence and re-run.

Best tested through the Photos path — your Entire Library, a single album, or hand-picked shots. Pick your images, choose which features to run, watch it work, then review and edit every item before you Apply or Export.

What I'm looking for:

  • Are the titles, captions, and keywords accurate to each image?
  • Does duplicate detection catch real near-dupes?
  • Can you edit everything cleanly in the review screen before export?
  • Any crashes, hangs, or images that fail to analyze?
